EFELIA

The purpose of the EFELIA project is to build up the skills in AI of all types of audiences with the aim of developing this disruptive AI technology throughout French industry and increasing French competitiveness in strategic sectors.

Université Côte d'Azur was awarded a grant for its "EFELIA Côte d'Azur" project under the "Competencies and Jobs of the Future” (Compétences et Métiers d'Avenir - CMA) call for expressions of interest, jointly funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation.
As coordinator of the project, Université Côte d'Azur will receive €8 million for a period of five years to implement the project in collaboration with the EFELIA Côte d'Azur consortium partners: Inria, CNRS, Inserm, Eurecom and SKEMA Business School.

The ambitious goal of this project, led at the local level by the 3IA Côte d'Azur Institute with the help of the 3IA network, is to provide structure to a French School of Artificial Intelligence designed to develop and popularize training in AI at all levels (specialist or interdisciplinary).

The EFELIA project will deploy several actions: certification of training courses under the label "French School of AI", development of AI training courses, implementation of calculation and educational incentive platforms, and creation of AI MOOCs.

Educational content will be created in coordination with the other 3IAs, each contributing according to its specialties:
•    AI & Health and Deep Learning by 3IA Côte d'Azur.
•    Trusted AI by ANITI Toulouse.
•    Frugal AI and automatic language processing by MIAI Grenoble.
•    AI, economics, management and finance by PRAIRIE Paris.
These initial actions will form the basis of the EFELIA project. The project will be developed by networking with the other 3IA Institutes to ensure that the expertise acquired by each institute is shared nationally, with the aim of attracting and training new talent in AI.
