Pre-selected at the end of stage 1 of the call for proposals for University Innovation Clusters (PUI), the "Med'Innov" project, led by Université Côte d'Azur, the University of Corsica Pasquale Paoli and 10 other major innovation partners, aims to deploy a high-impact innovation strategy to meet the challenges of the regions represented and exceed national expectations.

University innovation clusters were designed to strengthen the role of universities in developing an effective local innovation ecosystem together with the national research institutions located in their region and the organizations involved in transferring, developing and incubating entrepreneurship projects. They allow for a single governance of initiatives, without adding additional administrative layers. The cluster receives funding to speed up innovation.

After a call for proposals issued in January 2023 to deploy these PUIs, 29 projects were shortlisted as eligible for funding to implement or consolidate a PUI.
The project led by Université Côte d'Azur, the University of Corsica Pasquale Paoli and 10 other major stakeholders in the field of innovation is one of these 29 winners. The consortium must detail its proposal by May 24, the deadline for the grant selection phase.

Pre-selection of the Med'Innov' project

For Corsica and the Côte d'Azur region, the objectives put forward by the Med'Innov PUI are mainly to step up efforts to raise awareness and provide training for the scientific and student community regarding innovation and entrepreneurship, to boost research between public and private partners, to encourage technology transfers, and to promote the creation of innovative companies, particularly deeptech ones.
In addition to the founding members, the PUI gathers several key stakeholders in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (local authorities, competitiveness clusters, foundations, healthcare institutions, technology transfer organizations, etc.) to ensure that proposed actions are consistently implemented and to increase their impact.
