The World AI Cannes Festival 2026 was inaugurated on February 12, in the presence of Anne Le Hénanff, Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology, alongside the region's leading institutional and economic players. On this occasion, the minister made an official visit to the stand of the Institut 3IA Côte d'Azur, supported by Université Côte d'Azur.

This exchange highlighted the scientific excellence of the Côte d'Azur site and the structuring role of its ecosystem in the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence that is responsible and serves society.

A bilateral meeting with Jeanick Brisswalter, President of Université Côte d'Azur, also provided an opportunity to discuss the strategic challenges of research, training, and innovation in AI, as well as the university's contribution to national ambitions in this field.

An extended visit to the Alpha Cluster in Sophia Antipolis

The minister continued her visit to Pôle Alpha in Sophia Antipolis, where Jeanick Brisswalter opened the round table discussion "Quantum in Sophia Antipolis: challenges and prospects." The discussions brought together leading academic and industry representatives, including Virginia d'Auria (Quantazur Institute), David Gesbert (EURECOM), Jean-Christophe Pazzaglia (SAP Labs), Bruno Martin (Nice Institute of Physics, i3S/CNRS), and Elie Hachem (Mines Paris - PSL).

The session concluded with a discussion with students from Polytech Nice Sophia, attended by Alexandre Caminada, director of the school, Jean Leonetti, and Jean-Pierre Mascarelli. The discussions focused on training programs, opportunities offered by the Sophia Antipolis ecosystem, public policies promoting innovation, and issues related to the recently adopted digital majority. 






Through this day, Université Côte d'Azur confirmed its central role in training talent and developing strategic technologies at the heart of Europe's leading technology park.
