As part of its policy to support research and innovation, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Area is offering two awards and one competition to help you promote your thesis or project. The deadline for applications is June 15.
Research Excellence Awards
For the 2026 edition, several awards will be presented:
1 to 6 Young Researchers Awards to recognize the best theses selected by each of the doctoral schools at Université Côte d’Azur (prize of 300 euros per award)
1 Research Award for a research project of particular interest to the region. This award will be granted following a call for applications to a research laboratory affiliated with the metropolitan area. The research team whose project is of clear regional interest will be recognized by the committee and may receive, following deliberation by the Metropolitan Council, the “Victoires de la Recherche” Research Prize, accompanied by a sum of at least 1,000 euros.
For the 2026 edition, several prizes will be awarded:
3 “My Impact-Driven Entrepreneurial Project” Awards: intended to support student-entrepreneurs holding the National Student-Entrepreneur Status (SNEE) issued by UniCA Entreprendre (Pépite Méditerranée Nice Program). Each award comes with a prize of €2,500.
1 “Connection to Research” Award: highlighting the link between entrepreneurship and research. This award comes with a prize of €2,500. It recognizes:
either an SNEE student-entrepreneur who has initiated or conceived a promising collaboration with a research entity (University of Côte d’Azur laboratory) with the aim of strengthening the quality and robustness of their entrepreneurial project;
or a doctoral student or researcher at Université Côte d’Azur engaged in a project to commercialize or transfer research results through business creation.
This competition aims to support projects of international scope and initiatives that promote the university’s heritage. The award criteria for the 2026 edition are as follows:
organizing meetings (symposia, seminars, conferences) within the metropolitan area that have an international scope;
carry out any action likely to develop the metropolitan cultural heritage.
