On July 9, the Université Côte d'Azur, via its IMREDD Institute for Innovation and Partnerships, the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur and the CNRS inaugurated the center of expertise in additive manufacturing (3D printing) at the IMREDD. As part of the "Smart City Innovation Centre", this center pools material and human resources to respond to more diverse and numerous requests, and to support projects aimed at accelerating the region's move towards the industry of the future.
At the University-Territory interface, Université Côte d'Azur has positioned Innovation and Partnership Institutes such as IMREDD, dedicated to the theme of smart, friendly, resilient and sustainable territories. Built around a collaborative technology platform, the Smart City Innovation Center, IMREDD promotes industrial research and experimental development in support of innovation. On January 1, 2024, IMREDD was awarded the "Centre de Ressources Technologiques" (CRT) label, which recognizes the technological expertise it provides to companies, particularly SMEs: customized and catalog-based technological services, innovation development, diagnostics and technological development consulting.
With a view to pooling resources and complementing expertise on a regional scale, Université Côte d'Azur works closely with other innovation support bodies in the region. A member of the PRACCIIS regional platform for accelerating the industry of the future since 2021, in 2023 it will work with the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur and the CNRS to create a Competence Centre for additive manufacturing. At IMREDD's "Smart City Innovation Centre", they will be pooling their material and human resources to meet more diverse and numerous demands, and to support the region's industrial development and research projects.
The inauguration of this center of competence in additive manufacturing took place on July 9, in the presence of Jeanick Brisswalter, President of Université Côte d'Azur, Stéphane Mazevet, President of the IMREDD, and Jean-Claude Dupuis, President of the IMREDD.Azur, Stéphane Mazevet, Director of the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur and Emmanuel Tric, Director of IMREDD, in the presence of the project's key experts and partners. The platform was presented by Arnaud ZENERINO, R&D engineer in additive manufacturing and materials, (IMREDD); then industrialists gave their testimonies as users of this center. A guided tour by Ludovic DESVARENNES, Technical Sales Engineer, IMREDD, was offered at the end of the sequence.
