These results reflect both the strength of its positions in highly selective rankings and the continuous improvement of its overall performance.
Confirmed national and international visibility in sports science
In the 2025 edition of the Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments (ShanghaiRanking), published on December 29, 2025, Université Côte d’Azur once again ranks among the top 300 institutions worldwide.
Ranked this year in the 151–200 bracket, the university maintains significant international visibility in a particularly competitive ranking. It also stands out at the national level, being the only French university ranked in 2025 ( whereas five French institutions were included in the 2024 ranking). This result highlights the international recognition of the sports science research carried out at Université Côte d’Azur.
Strong progress in the 2025 UI GreenMetric rankings
Université Côte d'Azur has made significant progress in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2025, published on November 18, 2025, which assesses universities' commitment to sustainable development.
The university climbed 266 places in the global rankings, rising from 893rd position in 2024 to 627th position in 2025, among 1,547 universities evaluated (71 more institutions than last year). At the national level, Université Côte d'Azur retains its 2nd place (out of 3 participating institutions), with a very small point difference from the top university.
These results confirm the momentum generated by Université Côte d'Azur in favor of ecological transition and sustainable development on its campuses and in its activities.
A sustainable commitment recognized in the QS Sustainability 2026 ranking
In the QS World University Rankings Sustainability 2026, Université Côte d'Azur ranks 377th worldwide out of 1,994 universities, and 7th nationally out of 75 French institutions ranked. The overall score continues to improve, reflecting the university's improved performance in a context of increased international competition.
