Patrice Genevet, a CNRS researcher at the Research Center on Heteroepitaxy and Its Applications (CRHEA – CNRS/Université Côte d’Azur), is the 2026 recipient of the Jean Jerphagnon Prize. This award recognizes his innovative work in the field of optics and photonics, particularly regarding optical metasurfaces and their applications.
At CRHEA, Patrice Genevet conducts research focused on optical metasurfaces—artificial materials capable of controlling light at the nanoscale. His work focuses in particular on the design of new photonic components that can modulate, focus, or manipulate light, with potential applications in numerous technological fields.
Created to promote technological innovation and the advancement of optics and photonics, the Jean Jerphagnon Prize is awarded annually to a project of high scientific value or strong industrial potential that involves optics or photonics.
