On September 24, 2026, the Salle des Actes on the Valrose campus hosted a highlight of the Université Côte d’Azur Management Track: the launch of the third cohort and the graduation ceremony for the first cohort, featuring the presentation of the program’s first Open Badges.
A Third Cohort to Keep the Momentum Going
The morning was devoted to welcoming the new cohort. Twenty-six participants —including 10 strategic managers and 16 operational managers —are now embarking on this professional development program, led and coordinated by the HR Training Department within the Human Resources Division.
The new cohort will be supported over the course of two years through a program designed to develop and strengthen the skills necessary to fulfill managerial responsibilities at Université Côte d’Azur.
A First for the University: The First Badges Awarded to Cohort 1
During the lunch break, the new cohort was joined by participants from Cohorts 1 and 2 for a highlight that will go down as a first in the history of the Management Track and the University: the presentation of the first badges at the conclusion of the two-year program.Twenty-seven participants received the Level 1 badge , while five of them also earned the Level 2 certification badge . Two participants will continue their second year with the next cohort.
This inaugural ceremony marks the implementation of the system for recognizing skills and commitment developed as part of the Management Track. It thus represents an important milestone in building a shared managerial culture at Université Côte d’Azur.
Two Levels of Recognition
The Management Track is based on two levels of Open Badges, which correspond to two distinct forms of recognition.
The Level 1 badge attests to regular participation and commitment and recognizes the participant’s dedication to their professional development throughout the two-year track.
The Level 2—Certifying—badge , on the other hand, attests to managerial skills and a reflective approach as assessed by the institution. Earning this badge requires, in particular, the creation of an individual skills portfolio and a presentation before a panel.
These badges are issued by Université Côte d’Azur. They serve as recognition of the skills acquired during the program but do not constitute a degree or a state-accredited certification.
What the First Cohort Takes Away
Beyond the badges, this first cohort also provides an opportunity to gauge the program’s impact through participant feedback. The results collected at the end of the two-year program highlight the changes managers reported experiencing:- 92.8% of participants noticed a change in their managerial approach between the first and second years;
- 100% would recommend the Management Track to a colleague;
- 85.7% wish to maintain contact with members of their cohort after the program ends.
These figures highlight an important aspect of the program: beyond the acquisition of knowledge and skills, the Management Track helps create a community of managers based on the sharing of experiences, collective reflection, and ongoing peer-to-peer exchanges.
A Momentum That Continues
With the launch of this third cohort and the awarding of the first Open Badges, the Management Track has reached a new milestone. Having begun as a pilot program bringing together managers from the University’s various campuses, departments, and services, the program is now firmly established as a long-term initiative.Cohort after cohort, the goal remains to develop a shared managerial culture at Université Côte d’Azur, to support staff in fulfilling their responsibilities, and to foster a sustainable professional community centered on the challenges of university management.
