Université Côte d’Azur continues to expand its collaborations with leading Indian higher education and research institutions. At Bharat Innovates 2026, the University strengthened its academic and scientific partnerships in key areas such as artificial intelligence, innovation, and training.
A Long-Term Franco-Indian Partnership
For several years, Université Côte d’Azur has been developing strategic partnerships with key players in Indian higher education. This strategy is based in particular on the Franco-Indian Campus, a joint initiative with the Indian Institute of Science, Ashoka University, and the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi, as well as on numerous collaborations in research, training, and academic mobility.
As part of this initiative, the University hosted, within the framework of Bharat Innovates 2026, a delegation comprising fifteen Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), among the most prestigious institutions in India. This visit, organized with the support of the French Embassy in India, reflects a shared commitment to strengthening scientific and academic exchanges between the two countries.
Artificial Intelligence at the Heart of the Discussions
On this occasion, 3IA Côte d’Azur brought together key players from the Sophia Antipolis innovation ecosystem for a day dedicated to artificial intelligence. Following an initial session held at the Pôle Alpha and the Maison de l'Intelligence Artificielle, discussions continued at the Inria center at Université Côte d’Azur in the presence of representatives from French AI clusters, institutional partners, and the Indian delegation.
Discussions focused on major scientific and technological challenges related to artificial intelligence, international cooperation strategies, and prospects for collaboration between the French and Indian ecosystems. These meetings highlighted the expertise developed in the Côte d’Azur region and strengthened synergies between the scientific communities of both countries.
New Agreements to Strengthen Collaborations
The delegation, led by Jeanick Brisswalter, President of Université Côte d’Azur, also participated in the opening ceremony of Bharat Innovates 2026 in the presence of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
On this occasion, a new partnership agreement was signed with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay . The renewal of the Franco-Indian Campus agreements, as well as the signing of a letter of intent for cooperation between UDICE and several Indian IITs, further consolidate a network of collaborations set to expand in the coming years.
Université Côte d’Azur thus reaffirms its commitment to globally oriented research and high-impact international partnerships in the service of innovation, education, and major societal challenges.
