From May 20 to 22, 2026, come and (re)discover the University’s biodiversity through a series of activities organized for the annual celebration of biodiversity: Nature Day.

Held throughout France, Nature Day invites every institution to celebrate nature and learn more about it. Several campuses of Université Côte d'Azur feature beautiful green spaces, but it is undoubtedly the Valrose estate—a true hub of biodiversity in the heart of the city—that best represents urban nature in Nice.

Explore, learn, participate: a rich and interactive program

The Sustainable Site Development Department offers an immersive and participatory experience.

On the agenda:
  • fun and educational activities,
  • workshops, fun and educational games,
  • a tour of the garden,
  • opportunities for discussion to better understand biodiversity issues,
  • etc...
Three highlights not to be missed (registration required)
  1. Botanical walks to learn how to identify the estate’s rich plant life: May 20 from 12 PM to 2 PM (registration required);
  2. Stalls on the central lawn (no registration required);
  3. A lecture followed by a participatory inventory to deepen your knowledge and take concrete action: May 22 from 8:30 PM to midnight (registration required).

Université Côte d'Azur: Committed to Life

The university does not merely observe nature; it takes concrete action to preserve it. This commitment manifests itself on several levels:
  • scientific research,
  • educational programs that raise awareness of environmental issues,
  • sustainable management of its green spaces,
  • understanding of existing biodiversity,
  • and the integration of biodiversity considerations into its real estate projects.
