Ten doctoral students from Université Côte d’Azur participated in a week-long immersive training program at North Carolina State University alongside ten American doctoral students. They gained valuable international experience focused on educational innovation and the intercultural aspects of higher education.

From June 1 to 5, 2026, ten doctoral students from Université Côte d’Azur took part in the International Summer Program: Global Teaching and Learning, organized in partnership with North Carolina State University as part of the Erasmus+ program. This initiative brought together young French and American researchers around a common goal: to develop pedagogical approaches that integrate the international, intercultural, and collaborative dimensions of higher education.

During this week-long training program, participants explored several themes related to pedagogical innovation and the internationalization of education:

• Concepts and models of teaching and learning on an international scale;
• Universal Design for Learning (UDL) applied to international education;
• Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL);
• Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL);
• Co-design of international collaboration projects.

Guided by experts from both universities, the doctoral students worked in Franco-American teams on concrete projects for educational transformation. The week concluded with presentations highlighting the teaching methods and learning experiences designed collectively, illustrating the potential of international cooperation in the service of educational innovation.
