The launch of the Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation MED'INNOV (MED'INNOV University Innovation Cluster) brought together the major players in innovation in the Corso-Azurean region on Thursday December 20, 2023 at the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen in Nice.
The Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation MED'INNOV, supported by Université Côte d'Azur, Università di Corsica Pasquale Paoli and 10 other major players in the field ofInnovation (Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale, Institut National de Recherche pour l'Institut National de Recherche pour l'Agriculture, l'Alimentation et l'Environnement, Institut de Recherche pour le Développement, Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, SATT Sud-Est, Incubateur Provence Côte d'Azur, etc.).Incubateur Provence Côte d'Azur, Inizià and Inserm Transfert) was officially launched on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen, in Nice.
The main mission of the Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation MED'INNOV is to deploy a multi-impact innovation strategy that meets the needs of Corsica and the Côte d'Azur, as well as national ambitions, in line with the momentum generated by the Université Côte d'Azur Idex.
This strategy is based on six axes:
The day began with a welcome for the founders of the MED'INNOV University Innovation Cluster, followed by the first Founders' Steering Committee, led by the founding universities' Innovation Vice-Presidents, Xavier Fernandez and Dominique Cancellieri.
At the same time, a first session of the Cellule Partenariats et Innovation Mutualisée, led by Laura Clerissi, Head of Valorisation at the Direction de la Recherche, de la Valorisation et de l'Innovation (DRVI) of Université Côte d'Azur, and Sofiane Haris, MED'INNOV project manager, initiated the first joint actions of the site's Innovation operational staff.
The founders of the MED'INNOV project were then joined by their partners for opening speeches by the President of Université Côte d'Azur, Jeanick Brisswalter, and the President de l'Università di Corsica Pasquale Paoli, Dominique Federici; and speeches by elected officials and representatives of the Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation's partner local authorities and administrations:
The event ended on a festive note with a cocktail reception at the Hôtel Le Méridien, to celebrate this historic collaboration between Corsica and the Côte d'Azur, under the banner of innovation!

- Jean-Pierre Mascarelli, Mayor of Bouyon, Vice-Chairman of the Communauté d'Agglomération de Sophia-Antipolis and Chairman of the Fondation de Sophia-Antipolis
- Xavier Latour, Vice-President of Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur
- Alexandre Vinciguerra, Executive Councillor of the Collectivité de Corse and Chairman of the Agence de Développement Economique de la Corse (Corsican Economic Development Agency)
- Jean-Philippe Agresti, Rector of the Academic Region of Corsica
Strategic training
In the afternoon, the first strategic training session of the Innovation and Valorization Commission took place, led once again by Xavier Fernandez and Dominique Cancellieri, bringing together all the project's founders and partners, with the aim of setting out the guidelines for collaboration expected as part of the implementation of its 10 key actions.The event ended on a festive note with a cocktail reception at the Hôtel Le Méridien, to celebrate this historic collaboration between Corsica and the Côte d'Azur, under the banner of innovation!
