On Tuesday June 3, Kilian Bürgi had the fantastic opportunity to present his doctoral research project CleverFish or AI in the service of marine conservation at UNOC3.

Kilian Bürgi, a doctoral student in artificial intelligence for the automatic detection and tracking of marine species, presented his CleverFish project with a demonstration developed by Stéphane Petiot at the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).
The aim of this project is to create a bridge between artificial intelligence and marine biologists/ecologists.

"We have created an easy-to-use, autonomous and fully automated pipeline to help generate ecological data that can be used for conservation efforts, and will enable laboratories with limited resources to fully value their data. The time and effort spent on video analysis will be considerably reduced, enabling marine biologists to redirect their efforts towards the ultimate goal, such as the creation of marine protected areas," explains Kilian Bürgi.
For his presentation, Kilian Bürgi, a PhD student working with Charles Bouveyron, Director of 3IA Côte d'Azur, and Cécile Sabourault, Director of the ECOSEAS Laboratory, used a demonstration specially developed by Stéphane Petiot, Full Stack Engineer at 3IA Techpool.
