Future health campus: a structuring project for training and innovation in healthcare

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, Université Côte d’Azur held a press conference at the St Jean d'Angély campus to present the future health campus, a major project aimed at strengthening education, research, and innovation in health in the Alpes-Maritimes region.

Located on the Saint-Jean d'Angely site in Nice, this future campus aims to bring together, in a single location, all of the medical and paramedical training programs that are currently scattered across different sites. It will host training programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, midwifery, physical therapy, speech therapy, and specialized nursing.

During the press conference, Jeanick Brisswalter, President of Université Côte d'Azur, reiterated the academic and societal ambitions of this project, which will serve students, healthcare professionals, and the local community.

Charles-Ange Ginesy, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis and Deputy President of the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, and Laurent Hottiaux, Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, also spoke, emphasizing the structuring and partnership-based nature of the future health campus.

The conference was attended by Jean Dellamonica, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Laurence Lupi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Arnaud Choplin, Director of the Institute of Physiotherapy, Rémy Collomp, Director of the Department of Pharmacy, Auriane Gros, Director of the Department of Speech Therapy, and Sandra Maccagnan, Director of the School of Midwifery, as well as Jérôme Raibaut, Deputy Director of the Alpes-Maritimes Regional Health Agency, Rodolphe Bourret, Director of Nice University Hospital, and Emmanuel Barranger, Director of the Antoine Lacassagne Center, illustrating the mobilization of all healthcare stakeholders around this project.


A campus dedicated to training and serving the region

Designed as a true university health hub, the future health campus aims to promote interprofessionality, the pooling of equipment, and the development of innovative teaching methods, particularly around health simulation and new training approaches.

Equipped with high-tech facilities, technical platforms, and living labs, it will offer a modern learning environment adapted to current and future challenges in health, well-being, and aging.

With a total cost of €48 million, the future health campus represents a major investment for the region. It is part of a dynamic process of scientific, economic, and social development, working closely with healthcare institutions and institutional partners.

By training the healthcare professionals of tomorrow and strengthening synergies between teaching, research, and innovation, Université Côte d'Azur is fully affirming its social responsibility and its commitment to serving healthcare and citizens.
