Innovation for healthy aging on the Côte d'Azur - The INNOVA 2025 conference, organized by the Innovation Hub Ageing & Well-being of Université Côte d'Azur, brought together researchers, PhD students and startups from around the world on September 25 and 26, 2025 to explore cutting-edge solutions in the field of ageing and well-being.
The conference fostered interdisciplinary dialogue, exploring aging and well-being from social, economic, biomedical, psychological and public health perspectives. INNOVA created a dynamic platform for sharing knowledge, showcasing emerging talent and developing collaborative opportunities within the Ulysseus ecosystem.

Connecting researchers, PhD students and startups worldwide
The main objectives of INNOVA 2025 included promoting cutting-edge academic research and innovation within the Ulysseus program, exploring aging and well-being in all their dimensions, and supporting young researchers and PhD students. The event also aimed to build bridges between the academic and socio-economic sectors, while generating attractive opportunities for collaboration within the Ulysseus network.
The conference featured a series of keynotes highlighting the latest advances in the field of aging and well-being. Prof. Thomas C. Kingsley (Mayo Clinic & UCLA Health) discussed the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence for healthy living, while Prof. Paula Pousinha (Université Côte d'Azur) presented innovative biomarkers to better understand and monitor the aging process.

Other sessions focused on creating environments conducive to health, with Prof. Leandro Garcia (Queen's University) presenting the latest developments. Leandro Garcia (Queen's University Belfast) sharing his research, and on technology transfer for ageing and well-being, including policy and best practice, presented by Prof. Nektarios Tavernarakis (University of Crete). These presentations underlined the interdisciplinary nature of the conference and its aim of linking research to concrete applications.
INNOVA 2025 successfully underlined the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing solutions for ageing and well-being, and strengthened international connections within the Ulysseus community.
