A website mapping the various research support structures (platforms, technical platforms, outstanding facilities, innovation and partnership institutes) at Université Côte d'Azur has been set up. Thanks to its bilingual search engine, it enables users to quickly identify the various structures, their equipment, their expertise, and their location within the region.

Support for researchers, teacher-researchers, doctoral students and companies

At the heart of a rich research landscape, both interdisciplinary and rooted in its territory, the mission of Université Côte d'Azur's research support structures is to support the community of researchers, teacher-researchers, doctoral students and companies in their research work, by providing them with expertise, equipment, technologies and multiple services. of researchers, teacher-researchers, doctoral students and companies in their research work, by providing them with expertise, equipment, technologies and services of all kinds.

To this end, a dedicated team within the Université Côte d'Azur has mapped out the various types of research support structures. This work has been carried out by a dedicated team within the Research, Development and Innovation Department (DRVI), under the impetus of Xavier Fernandez, Vice-President of Innovation and Research Development.

The breadth and depth of Université Côte d'Azur's infrastructure and expertise

In particular, this mapping makes it possible to centralize and display on a dedicated website (developed by the Communications and Branding Department) the full extent and wealth of infrastructures and expertise available on the Université Côte d'Azur site.

Divided into four main sections - platforms, technical platforms, outstanding facilities and innovation and partnership institutes - the website, which is available in both French and English, enables visitors to find out more about the Université Côte d'Azur.ais and in English, enables users to quickly identify a structure or an expertise thanks to a search engine responsive to keywords associated with its equipment or expertise. The site also includes a definition for each type of structure, enabling users to determine exactly what makes them different (the definitions, which are subject to change, were voted on by the Academic Council and the Board of Directors in 2022).

The multi-disciplinarity of our infrastructures is also illustrated according to three major themes defined by the European Research Council (ERC), namely: "physical sciences and engineering", "life sciences", "humanities and social sciences" (note that some structures may appear under more than one theme).

Future developments

This initial mapping, based on a questionnaire sent to all staff working in research support structures at Université Côte d'Azur, is non-exhaustive and is intended to be constantly improved. All structures wishing to identify themselves are welcome to do so, and may subsequently be added to the website during future updating phases.

In the near future, the focus will be more specifically on outstanding facilities (which are currently relatively under-represented), on the link with theinventory of expert skills at Université Côte d'Azur, and on the addition of 360° virtual tours. Communication with our external partners will also be undertaken, to offer them an extended vision of our expertise and equipment available on our site.

The identification of research support structures at Université Côte d'Azur is in line with the actions of the European HRS4R label, which focuses on a human resources strategy for researchers and managers.More specifically, it aims to provide support for their research activities and improve their working environment and conditions.
