In the 2026 edition of the QS subject rankings, Université Côte d’Azur has reaffirmed its international standing with a stronger showing across the rankings. The university has moved up in the natural sciences and gained visibility in the life sciences and medicine.
In 2026, Université Côte d’Azur reaffirmed the strength and international visibility of its educational and research activities in the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
A consolidated presence in major disciplinary fields
In the “Broad Subjects” category, Université Côte d’Azur is ranked in 2 out of 5 fields, representing a stable presence rate of 40%. The university has made progress in Natural Sciences while maintaining its position in Life Sciences & Medicine, demonstrating consistent performance in these strategic fields.
Positive momentum in specialized disciplines
In terms of specific disciplines (“Narrow subjects”), Université Côte d’Azur is now ranked in 10 out of 55 disciplines, up from 9 last year, reflecting an expansion of its academic footprint. It has made a notable entry into the TOP 300 in "Earth and Marine Sciences" and ranks in the TOP 250 in "Geology" and "Geophysics" and the TOP 300 in Mathematics.
These results confirm an overall positive momentum, driven in particular by the development of research activities and their international recognition.

The QS “by subject” ranking evaluates institutions across 55 academic disciplines, grouped into five major fields. It is based on several indicators, including academic reputation, employer recognition, the impact of scientific publications, and the internationalization of activities.
