The second edition of the Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation MED'INNOV's Starthèse competition has been launched! Its aim: to encourage doctoral students and young researchers to take up entrepreneurial vocations. Registration is now open!

The second edition of the Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation Med'Innov's Starthèse competition, which aims to encourage the entrepreneurial vocations of doctoral students and young researchers, offers two days of Masterclasses to teach them how to add value to their research work, learn about innovation tools and pitch their project.

These two days, to be held on June 10 and 11 in Fréjus, are equivalent to 16 hours of training. They are coordinated by UniCA Entreprendre, Inria Startup Studio and PEPITE Provence Côte d'Azur et Corse.

At a final evening event to be held at the end of June (venue and date to be announced), the selected participants will have the chance to pitch their project in just a few minutes, enabling the public to discover the entrepreneurial opportunities and prospects arising from their research work.

Find out more about the Starthèse program

Launched by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research in 2024, Starthèse is a national program that enables young researchers to experiment with entrepreneurship as a way of valorizing their skills and the work carried out as part of their thesis. The Pôles Universitaires d'Innovation (PUI) are the main organizers of this competition in their regions. Starthèse is aimed at doctoral students or PhDs less than 5 years old, and is designed to develop solutions to the social, economic, cultural and environmental challenges facing our society.
