Université Côte d'Azur takes a major new step in its commitment to public health: the Ulysseus Innovation Hub on Ageing and Well-being has been officially designated as a Collaborating Centre of the World Health Organization (WHO).
This partnership reflects the international recognition of the expertise developed within the university and its ongoing involvement in major health challenges. As a WHO Collaborating Centre, the Innovation Hub carries out the following activities in close collaboration with the WHO:
Train and build the capacity of public health professionals to adopt systems thinking and innovative approaches to improve public health;
Conduct research on the application of systems thinking and innovation in health policy;
Contribute to the creation of an innovation ecosystem for public health, by providing technical expertise and organizing specialized workshops.
This new collaboration strengthens an already solid relationship between Université Côte d'Azur and the WHO. Key initiatives include the organization of an international Summer School, now in its third year. The 2025 edition of the Summer School "Systems thinking and innovation for the prevention of noncommunicable diseases and a healthy ageing population" takes place in July in Nice, and is aimed at researchers, health professionals and the general public.It is aimed at researchers, healthcare professionals and policy-makers wishing to adopt a systems approach to improving the implementation of healthcare policies.
This designation as a WHO Collaborating Centre marks a key milestone for Université Côte d’Azur in expanding its influence and expertise in public health, innovation and international cooperation.
About the Innovation Hub Ulysseus Ageing and Wellbeing
Based at the Université Côte d'Azur in Nice (France), the Ulysseus Innovation Hub on Aging and Well-Being explores key themes such as "Aging in an urban environment", "Aging in a rural environment" and "Aging in a rural environment". Aging in urban environments", the "Silver economy", "Environmental impacts on aging and well-being" and "Understanding the aging process". Through this hub, Université Côte d'Azur aims to strengthen and promote innovative research that is disciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary, in order to better understand the biological mechanisms of aging and analyze its social, economic and environmental implications.
