Université Côte d'Azur takes over management of U7+ general secretariat

At the close of the U7+ Presidential Summit held on April 11 and 12 in Italy at the University of Bocconi, Université Côte d'Azur was chosen to host the U7+ General Secretariat for the next 3 years, succeeding Northwestern University.
The U7+ Presidential Summit is the annual meeting of the U7+ Alliance, the first coalition of university presidents from Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa and Australia dedicated to defining concrete and collective actions that universities can take to address global challenges, in coordination with the heads of government of the G7 countries and beyond.Australia dedicated to defining concrete and collective actions that universities can take to address global challenges, in coordination with the heads of government of the G7 countries and beyond.
The inaugural meeting of the Alliance was hosted by Sciences Po in Paris in 2019, with the support of French President Emmanuel Macron. The University of Toronto currently chairs the Presidential Steering Committee, whose members also include Bocconi University, Georgetown UniversityGeorgetown University, Keio University, Université de Montréal, University of Ibadan and University of Mannheim.
In 2024, the annual meeting was held in Italy at Bocconi University on April 11 and 12, on the theme of "Inclusive education for inclusive societies".ducation inclusive pour des sociétés inclusives", and concluded with the traditional declaration of the U7+ university presidents to the G7 leaders. Université Côte d'Azur, which hosted the U7+ Presidents in Cannes in 2022, was chosen to host the general secretariat, succeeding Northwestern University. The Université Côte d'Azur Excellence Initiative will take on this new responsibility.
