Université Côte d’Azur, the Côte d’Azur’s research institutions, and the City of Nice invite you to join guided tours to discover Street Science, an immersive scientific walk along the Promenade du Paillon every Friday this summer.

Located between the Jardin de la Bourgade and the reflecting pool, this free augmented reality experience aims to “make the invisible visible” and highlight the research being conducted in laboratories along the French Riviera.

Through 11 stations spread along the promenade, discover a variety of topics: DNA, sap flow, aging, biodiversity, maritime history… A fun and interactive way to explore science in a whole new way!

Using the free Street Science app, simply scan the panels to make 3D objects appear directly on your phone or tablet: a DNA molecule, an 18th-century Mediterranean tartan, or even phenomena invisible to the naked eye. Quizzes, games, and interactive content round out the experience.

But the real difference… is experienced in person.

Guided tours: the real added value of the experience

Because science is even easier to understand when it’s brought to life through storytelling, exclusive guided tours will be offered starting May 29:

Every Friday at 10 a.m.
Every Friday at 11:30 a.m.

Register by email at science-societe@univ-cotedazur.fr

What you won’t find anywhere else:

  • simple and engaging explanations by science educators
  • regular appearances by researchers who will discuss their work and answer your questions
  • interactive games and challenges to help you learn while having fun

These tours are open to everyone: families, school groups, students, and anyone curious about or passionate about science!

This project, supported by the French National Research Agency (ANR), showcases the work of the CNRS, INRAE, Inserm, IRD, the Côte d’Azur Observatory, and the Université Côte d’Azur.
