The µNageMautt project has been selected as a winner of the Deeptech Startup Call for Projects, organized by the Innovation Program of the Initiative of Excellence (IdEx) at Université Côte d’Azur.

Innovative technology for targeted drug delivery

The µNageMautt project, led by Pavel Kuzhir at the Nice Institute of Physics (INPHYNI – CNRS, Université Côte d’Azur), aims to develop self-navigating magnetic microswimmers capable of delivering drugs in a targeted manner to a specific therapeutic site. This innovative technology could eventually improve the management of conditions such as stroke, atherosclerosis, or certain arterial diseases by facilitating the delivery of treatments to hard-to-reach areas.

At the intersection of physics, microtechnologies, and healthcare, the project builds on already advanced research and is currently focusing its development on guidance systems, autopilot capabilities, and experimental validation.

Support from the IdEx Innovation Program: accelerating the transition from research to entrepreneurship

The selection of µNageMautt as part of the IdEx Innovation Program’s Start-Up DeepTech call for projects supports this momentum toward innovation. This initiative supports projects originating from the laboratories of IdEx partners in their technological and entrepreneurial maturation, through financial and strategic support of up to €200,000 in two phases:
  • an initial phase dedicated to transforming the technological concept into a product or transferable proof of value,
  • followed by a second phase focused on consolidating the innovation partnership and maturing the entrepreneurial project.
For the winning teams, this program serves as a powerful lever for structuring a future startup, consolidating proof of feasibility, and accelerating the emergence of impactful DeepTech innovations.
