Take part in an augmented reality walk to "make the invisible visible". Located between the Jardin de la Bourgade and the miroir d'eau, this unique tour highlights the work of local researchers.

Université Côte d'Azur, Côte d'Azur research establishments and the City of Nice have launched a 2.0 adventure along the Promenade du Paillon.

This fun, interactive stroll allows visitors to discover eleven scientific breakthroughs from Côte d'Azur laboratories. As they stroll along, visitors can explore themes such as DNA, sap circulation and aging. This nine-month collaborative project was supported by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche, and features work by CNRS, INRAE, Inserm, IRD, OCA and UniCA.

To take part in the experiment, simply download the free "Street Science" application and scan the signs on the Promenade du Paillon. Using simple instructions, users can make 3D objects appear on their phone. For example, by scanning the panel dedicated to the history of French maritime trade before the Revolution, a typical 18th-century Mediterranean boat, a tartane, appears (a funny name for a boat!), which can be observed from all angles. With this free tour, you'll learn lots of fun and surprising things! By clicking on the 3D object, participants can also deepen their knowledge of the research topic, take part in quizzes and have fun with games.

And don't worry if you can't make it to the Promenade du Paillon: you can print out the panels and take the walk at home!

Since its inauguration on October 11, the application has already been downloaded 400 times: a real success for research! New panels may soon appear on the coulée verte to extend this experience and propose other themes explored by other researchers supported by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche!
