Clinical Study on the Well-being of Informal Caregivers

Do you regularly care for a loved one who is in a vulnerable situation? Your experience is invaluable. Take part in this study conducted by the IA association, in partnership with the CoBTeK laboratory and students in the Master’s program in Integrative Clinical Psychology and Aging at Université Côte d’Azur.
This is the “Aidant TLC” study, a therapeutic education program designed to develop emotional, interpersonal, and stress management skills among family caregivers.
The program is structured around six different modules
understanding and managing stress,
strategies to counter depressive symptoms, whether in caregivers or their care recipients,
resilience and well-being in the context of caregiving,
self-care or the importance of meeting one’s own needs,
emotion management,
effects of social isolation.
What does the study involve?
It involves recruiting 75 participants, randomly assigned to three groups:
a control group,
a group with an in-person intervention,
a group with a remote intervention.
Eligibility
be an informal caregiver for an adult who needs daily assistance (due to a chronic illness or cognitive impairment),
provide at least 4 hours of care per week,
be 18 years of age or older,
Speak French,
be available for at least 2 hours per week,
be able to travel (for in-person sessions) or have internet access (for remote sessions).
